As you might know, property taxes in Miami Dade are paid at the end of the year. You can start paying them as early as November first and have all the way to March 31st to pay.

In an effort to entice early payment, Miami Dade offers the following discounts:

• 4% if you pay in Nov 
• 3% if you pay in Dec
• 2% if you pay in Jan
• 1% if you pay in Feb
• NO DISCOUNT if you pay in March

If you do not agree with your current property value assessment, you can appeal it. There are even companies out there that will fight your tax assessment for you. Some of them will appeal your taxes for free and take a portion of the savings if they succeed, which to me sounds like a no brainer if you are considering an appeal, but don’t know how to go about it or simply don’t want to deal with it yourself. Just google “miami dade property tax appeals” and you should find plenty of options.
